To be Eligible to Apply for JUMP, You Must:
- Be a community-based organisation or not-for-profit located within a 40km radius of Warrnambool Racing Club.
- Submit a completed application form that addresses all required fields and assessment criteria.
- Demonstrate clear community benefit, either through direct service delivery, outreach, or programming.
- Not have received JUMP funding in the previous 12 months, unless applying for a different initiative or tier. (Note: separate rules apply to Tier 3 and 4 recipients who have received funding in two consecutive years — see Participation Limits for details.)
- Indicate their capacity to providing volunteer support on race days relevant to their Tier (Tier 1 and 2 only).
- Be able to execute the initiative within the 12-month period following selection.
Participation Limits:
To ensure broad community access to the program, the following participation limits apply:
1. Organisations may receive funding in two consecutive years but must apply for different tiers of support each year (e.g. Tier 1 followed by Tier 3).
2. Organisations are not eligible to receive funding for three consecutive years under any tier.
3. Organisations can only receive Tier 1 and Tier 2 funding once over the life of the program. Once selected as a Tier 1 or Tier 2 recipient, that organisation becomes ineligible to be awarded that same tier again in future years.
4. Organisations that have received Tier 3 or Tier 4 funding in two consecutive years may reapply for support from those same tiers after a two-year absence from the program.
Assessment criteria:
Applications will be assessed on:
- Community impact: who and how many will benefit?
- Execution capability: is the initiative well-planned and feasible?
- Social reach: online and offline visibility and engagement.
- Financial value: cost vs benefit of the initiative.
- Volunteer engagement: For Tier 1, the number of volunteers available to support race days (required); for Tier 2, willingness and capacity to provide volunteer support (encouraged, but not mandatory)
